Dry acid and water balance

Sodium bisulphate lowers pH and consumes alkalinity. The requirement must be established from current water readings. Pools using alkaline chlorine products may need pH adjustment, but the chlorine type alone is not a reason to add acid.

Dry acid is still a chemical hazard

A granular format does not make this product harmless or automatically safer for a particular site. Storage, protective equipment and handling must follow the supplied SDS. Keep acids completely separate from chlorine products and verify any equipment change before use.

Check before repeating an adjustment

If pH rises again after correction, review total alkalinity and operating conditions. Follow the product label for application, allow the required circulation and retest before adding more. An enquiry helps confirm product options; it does not set a site-specific acid dose.

Questions before buying

Is this hydrochloric acid?

No. This page describes dry sodium bisulphate granules. It is a different product from liquid hydrochloric acid. Do not replace one with the other in a dosing system without checking compatibility and instructions.

Is dry acid automatically safer to store?

No general safety ranking applies to every site. Request the exact product SDS and assess the storage and handling arrangement. Keep it separated from chlorine and other incompatible materials.

What information is needed for a quotation?

State the required pack count or usual consumption, delivery district and any product specification required. Pack size, price and availability are confirmed by quotation.

Should I buy pH decreaser based only on chlorine type?

Use current pH and total alkalinity results. Liquid chlorine can contribute to rising pH, but your actual readings and pool procedure determine whether correction is needed.
